Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled DevSecOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Web
Application Firewall (WAF) technologies, specifically Akamai Technologies WAF and
Amazon Web Services (AWS) WAF. The candidate will be responsible for implementing,
managing, and optimizing application security controls within cloud and on-prem
environments.
The ideal candidate should have experience in cloud security, CI/CD integration,
automation, and web application protection strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
● Configure, manage, and optimize Akamai WAF and AWS WAF
● Implement security policies, custom rules, rate limiting, bot management, and IP reputation controls
● Perform rule tuning, false positive analysis, and incident response
● Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps practices)
● Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation
● Implement security best practices for APIs and web applications
● Monitor WAF logs, analyze attack patterns, and recommend improvements
● Work closely with DevOps and development teams to embed security controls
● Support DDoS mitigation and application-layer security configurations
● Automate security processes using scripting (Python/Shell)
Technical Skills Required: WAF & Security
● Strong experience with Akamai Kona Site Defender / Akamai WAF
● Hands-on with AWS WAF, AWS Shield, AWS CloudFront
● Experience with OWASP Top 10 mitigation techniques
● Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols and TLS
● Knowledge of Bot Management and API security
Cloud & DevOps
● Experience with AWS services (EC2, ALB, CloudFront, IAM, S3)
● CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
● Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
● Container security (Docker, Kubernetes) – preferred
● Log monitoring tools (ELK, Splunk, etc.)
Scripting & Automation
● Python / Bash scripting
● Automation of security rule deployment
